My journey to improve our health system through executive leadership, informatics, information technology, and change agency began decades ago in graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, when I was on a research team that developed predictive severity of illness models for heart attack, burn and trauma patients. These models were used to justify life-flight transportation in several states, improve care standards at rural hospitals as well as trauma centers, and enable skilled non-physician providers to work at the top of their credentials. My personal flame was lit, and my career today continues this focus on measurably improving the effectiveness, efficiency, quality and safety of health care delivery. Today, I continue this mission through my work with health systems, academic care organizations, medical groups and community care providers. My focus: technology powered health care. I use proven planning, feasibility, financial analysis, and program management techniques to advance the access, quality, affordability and community goals through information technology systems and services. I also serve as a private equity operating partner for private investors and venture funds, working to achieve (advance) the strategic intent of their investment. Basically, I solve problems and catalyze opportunities. In my work, I typically facilitate decision processes for leadership teams and governance boards, often through workshop formats. My approach is to drive strategic intent by managing change initiatives using agile management techniques, driving rapid results, sustainable change and a new cycle of confidence
