Member of the Advanced Analytics team working together with the Energy and Sustainability team under the Global Real Estate (GRE) organization that manages energy sourcing, and emission reduction projects across the Verizon portfolio.Designing and building a prescriptive framework for carbon reduction across Verizon's multi-billion dollar real estate portfolio to meet the company's aggressive and industry leading emission reduction commitments.

Established European subsidiary of ORPC and opened and manages office, growing team from one to four employees. Successfully sourced and received over $4MM in funding from European and Irish funding authorities for continued growth of Irish operation to foster technology and supply chain development of the tidal and river energy industry in Ireland and Europe. Principal Investigator for $3MM European Commission Horizon 2020 project to develop and test a first of its kind “wet-gap” permanent magnet generator for a design life of 20 years in a subsea environment. Conceptualized project from grant writing phase and has managed throughout duration. Project outcome will see an 80% reduction in maintenance cost for ORPC RivGen® systems, and an increase of system availability of 8.5%.Principal Investigator for $300k USD Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland funded project to develop new methods of composite design and manufacturing of hydrokinetic turbines. This approach uses a powdered epoxy approach and investigated bonded vs. bolted joints. Project outcomes are an increase in turbine efficiency of 10%, and validation of a new supply chain partner for ORPC turbine manufacturer. Managed consortium of 4 partners as part of project.

Responsible for electrical design, instrumentation, testing, and reporting for ORPC power systems, including the first grid-connected tidal energy project in the Americas. Involved significant time working in harsh on-water environments. Member of installation team and led grid connection efforts of both ORPC tidal and river systems which made ORPC the only company in the world to have grid connected both rover and tidal turbines. Developed and managed system modeling tools for analysis of crossflow turbines and how to maximize power output. Performed site assessment modelling work for potential project sites using in water measurement devices.Part of US Department of Energy (DOE) funded project team to design and implement a feedforward control scheme for marine hydrokinetic (MHK) devices, in order to predict incoming turbulence to improve turbine system performance and reduce mechanical loads. Worked closely with project partner University of Washington to develop new control system. Developed and tested a controller that increased power output of turbines by 25%.Part of DOE funded project team to design and integrate an optimized electrical generator for subsea use. Included trade study between generator architectures. Built and tested encapsulated permanent magnet generator which saw an increase to TidGen power system power to weight ratio of 23%. The goal of the project was to design a generator with low maintenance and high efficiency for the MHK industry. Written successful State and Federal agency grant applications worth over six million USD for the advancement of the MHK industry in the US. Reported on these projects at frequent intervals.

Analyzed and reported on energy consumption of Albanese’s high-rise energy efficient LEED certified building portfolio Commissioning and maintenance work on subsystems for America’s first LEED platinum certified residential building. Performed emergency maintenance events on affected buildings during hurricanes Irene, and Sandy in 2011 and 2012.
