I’ve been working around the music industry since I was in high school, my first exposure being the music department for student-led radio station WGBK Radio in Glenview, Illinois. I continued my radio work when I moved back to Mexico at RMX Radio, an alternative rock station based in Guadalajara. My work in RMX sparked a need to do more, and that’s when I created a music blog where I have been exploring and giving up-and-coming bands a platform to share their talent with the world. I’ve managed to interview young bands from all around the world, write music articles for various publications, craft playlists and broadcast a weekly radio show through Mixlr focused on introducing Latin American music to the UK audience. In February of 2021, I decided to create an online music festival determined to help London’s independent scene after it was terribly damaged by the ongoing pandemic. The event was held at Hackney’s MOTH Club and could be seen anywhere through Bandcamp’s streaming software. Spotlight Festival’s (@spotlight_fest) lineup was has now moved to an in-person modality having hosted its second edition at Shoreditch's Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes. I, independently, took care of every aspect of the organization and execution of the event. From raising funds and getting sponsors to PR, marketing and creative direction.Sharing music and promotion up-and-coming talent is my greatest passion, and I'm eager to utilize my drive and optimistic personality to bridge the gap between the Western and Latin American industry.
