My work history covers over thirty years of experience in the field of consulting engineering, including over ten years in the role of process or project engineer developing detailed engineering design solutions for a wide range of industrial, manufacturing and food / beverage projects. Many projects have resulted in new and unique products or processes in the marketplace. Effective leadership and close coordination of multiple engineering disciplines is required to successfully execute major capital projects that meet cost, schedule, and performance success criteria.The projects I have managed range from small definition phase studies intended to evaluate the viability of capital investments to $+100MM EPCM contracts for the successful delivery of green or brownfield production facilities. I have significant experience managing projects designed using 3D design tools with distributed teams working simultaneously in multiple locations around the globe. The effective use of technology is driving down the cost of field changes through collaboration with broader stakeholder groups and more precise reality capture to document existing conditions. I have focused on the integration of project management best practices with the evolution of design technology. Most of my work has been in the food / beverage, chemical, and nutraceuticals sectors, but I have also enjoyed the opportunity to manage numerous projects for the Air Force, both domestic and overseas. The projects have included general modernization of flight line and support facilities, renovation of a historic buildings on the national register, mechanical / electrical energy efficiency upgrades, installation of wind power generation, and a memorial air park for the Tuskegee Airmen.Throughout much of my career, while in management positions I have had simultaneous responsibilities in both project and operations management roles. When combined with my experience in the application of design technology it provides me with the ability to develop effective strategies tailored for the delivery of successful capital projects.
