Thirty years of my professional life have been focused on my passion: changing how people with Down syndrome and related disabilities, their families, and those who support them take control of life. Key to this is understanding the options available and thinking outside the box. I focused on health promotion for people experiencing with I/DD before the Surgeon General. I did not know it was ground breaking. It just made sense. I infuse that thought into everything I do - it makes sense that people with I/DD and their families should lead quality lives, experience quality health, and connected communities. My goal is to infuse a common sense, understandable flavor to stories to begin to crack the door open to change - individual change, community change, attitude change - any change.
