I currently work in the Norwegian Armed Forces at the Cold Weather Operations Medical Research Office, where we do research on Arctic TCCC, Hypothermia, Cold Water Swimming, SIPE, Special Forces Operations, and Emergency Medicine. I am also an NSOCM instructor. All opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Norwegian Armed Forces or others. I completed my Ph.D. thesis on the topic of "Physiological changes following swimming in cold water in Triathlon and military operations". During our research, we used the BodyCap system and iButtons to monitor body temperature. Being a Python coder, I tried to analyze and visualize the data in Python as much as possible."I worked for 10 years as a rescue paramedic in an air ambulance in Norway. I am a former officer in the Norwegian Armed Forces. Recently, I have returned to the Norwegian Armed Forces as a researcher and Staff Officer.I have been serving as the Chief of Medical and Safety at the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon, which is considered the world's most challenging one-day endurance competition, since 2005. Additionally, I have been providing safety and medical assistance at various other events, such as The Arctic Triple, Stavernfestivalen, Challenge Norway, TriQuart, Tønsberg Bytriathlon, Kon Tri, and many others.I participate in long-distance triathlons in my free time, specifically Ironman distance triathlons.
