As an elementary school kid, I read 28,000 pages in a school year and memorized countries and capitals for fun. In later academic years, my love for reading and remembering allowed me to become a skilled writer with a continued excitement for learning. I traded my globe lamp for ArcGIS (sort of, the lamp is still on my desk) and place names for flora and fauna, earning an MSc and graduate certificate in Ecosystem Restoration along the way.Complementing my enthusiasm for learning is a great appreciation for the interconnectedness of nature across the globe, which was sparked when I started the ecology unit of my high school biology class (thanks, Mr. Rennie!). My favourite projects explore big-picture environmental issues concepts either in the field or through literature and statistical modeling. In my professional career, I hope to continue learning about the environment through projects that benefit my local community.
