The Institute is one of the world's largest, private, non-profit, biomedical research organizations. TSRI has two campuses, 23 buildings, and over one million square feet of biology, chemistry, instrument, and automation labs dedicated to comprehending the most fundamental processes of life.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Project Coordinator on 160 million dollar project to develop 350,000 sf of new construction as Scripps Florida campus. Gathered, managed and balanced input from researchers, administrators, contractors, architects, engineers, and specialists, in order to effectively design and implement. • Constructed a 2,000 sq. ft. animal facility/vivarium, accounting for the various specific environments required for each animal species & specific experiment. Successfully designed, coordinated, and executed the project, managing each temperamental animal habitat throughout, without disruption.• Strategically managed the relocation of a 75,000 sq. ft. lab facility, including sensitive animals, chemicals, and instruments, into multiple newly designed & renovated facilities.• Proposed and implemented Archibus CAFM software to increase efficiency in the space management process. Software has allowed for the consolidation of the La Jolla Scripps Research campus by 40%, drastically reducing overhead costs.• Serve as LEAD in PUC project aimed at reducing energy costs thru mechanical redesign. Project achieved pay-back after 12 months, and continues to save tens of thousands monthly on electricity. • Successfully installed a 3k liter Micro-Bulk System to centralize liquid nitrogen storage exterior to the building. Piped to all points of use rather than using local tanks in order to reduce delivery costs and manage limited space.
