Joseph Lovell is a New York-licensed attorney who has more than two decades of Asia-focused legal, investment and business experience. He served as, among other roles, COO/General Counsel for an emerging markets private equity fund management company in Cambodia, Managing Partner for two regional law firms with offices in Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos, Managing Director/General Counsel for a financial group with offices in New York and Beijing, Corporate Secretary and Counsel for a Beijing-based LSE-listed private equity firm, Managing Attorney at a Honolulu law firm, board member for a number of companies and not-for-profit entities, and senior consultant at PwC (Taipei). Joseph has a BS from Georgetown University (Chinese Language), and MA (Asian Studies) and JD degrees from the University of Hawaii. His expertise includes private equity, project finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate law & governance. A native English speaker fluent in Mandarin Chinese with the ability to read and write, both simplified and traditional, Chinese at a professional level, Joseph also speaks basic Khmer, French and Thai.
