As the Director of Engineering for Design Systems, I have the privilege of leading a talented team of primarily UI/UX engineers who are responsible for building the tools that equip our marketers, designers, and developers to scale our brand and create world-class customer experiences. After moving into leadership, I continued to provide technical leadership and contributed as a senior developer for the ELP team but also took on the responsibility to manage our team's work and lead the other front-end developers on the team. I grew the team from 1 other developer to 3 developers, and together we were responsible for all of the marketing.

In addition to my responsibility to continue delivering high-quality UI/UX development work, as a senior developer I provided technical leadership and mentorship to my team and other teams in the company. I led our Front-End Development Chapter, where all of our front-end developers in the company would meet to share knowledge or work on cross-team.

After I transitioned into a dedicated front-end role, a large portion of my day-to-day work was building landing pages for marketing campaigns. This involved a high level of collaboration with the marketing and design team to create successful campaigns such as our annual tax campaign or May giveaway, which involved building a contest form which accepted.

As a general "web programmer" I was bouncing around between front-end, back-end, and reporting tasks in service of our Endorsed Local Providers business. This involved writing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ColdFusion, and SQL from day to day. My work included making updates to customer-facing pages on DaveRamsey.com, adding new features to our internal CRM tool.

In addition to my responsibilities as Visual Media Director, my senior year I led all of our department heads and reported to our faculty advisor with full responsibility for the radio station. This included support for my team as we planned campus events, started a news program, conducted listener tests of our music, and created programming for a morning.
