In the role as the Defence Projects Coordinator my task was to develop and coordinate defence related business by assisting the group companies in the globally. During this time we did some significant amount of testing with the US, French, South African and Finnish Forces in utilising various sand/gravel and stone filled structures to protect troops, installations and ammo depots.

During my tenure with TFL I was mainly in charge of the sales and support, including testing of the Hesco Bastion Blast Walls / Barriers. During my tenure we made significant sales to the US and NATO Forces serving in the Balkans. The testing was mainly US based and included protecting troops and installations from various magnitudes of ammunition.

I served for the first four months as a staff officer with the Force Engineer's office where I was responsible for Force Protection and Mine Awareness. I was responsible for procurement of force protection materials, at best for the 40000 strong UN Force in the region. After the Finnish Construction Battalion was pulled out I served with the UN Military Observers for 18 months both as an field UNMO and in several staff positions in three HQ's such as the A/MA to the Chief, Military Information (Intelligence) Officer and Liaison Officer.

My main task was to focus on the social well being issues of the members of the union and to manage the properties it had for the members to rent.I was on absentee leave for the time with UNDOF.

I served first as the Welfare Officer for the Finnish Battalion and contingent for four months and later as the staff officer Personnel (Welfare) at the UNDOF HQ for nine months. I was responsible for leave travel, welfare aspects of the troops including the battalion radio station. At the HQ my responsibilities extend over the four nations serving with UNDOF at that time.

I served as a warrant officer with the then Guards Battalion in Helsinki as well as the Forces Command. My tasks included those of training, transport, logistics, personnel and public information. During this time I also conducted my training at Päällystöopisto ie the Warrant Officer Institute.

I served in Southern Lebanon first as an ops duty officer with the Finnish Battalion serving with UNIFIL for 10 months and as an ops duty officer at the UNIFIL HQ for nine. My tasks included operational reporting, arranging local cease fires, as well as medical evacuations to participating in planning.
