As a Career Pathway Coordinator for the STEMM-Up Program, I champion equitable opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM) for individuals with disabilities, particularly those from historically underrepresented racial/ethnic groups and marginalized communities. My role combines strategic partnership building, direct support for jobseekers, and advocacy to foster inclusive career pathways in STEMM fields. Key Contributions: - Serve as a dedicated resource and advocate for STEMM careers, guiding individuals through assessments, career counseling, and tailored case management to align with their vocational goals. - Collaborate with Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) counselors to design individualized employment plans that support the unique needs and aspirations of participants. - Establish partnerships with STEMM employers and educational institutions to create training, internships, job shadowing, and other exposure opportunities, ensuring accessibility and inclusion in STEMM careers. - Conduct outreach and promotional activities to generate interest in STEMM careers and recruit participants, fostering a robust network of support for individuals with disabilities. - Develop community resources and deliver work readiness modules, empowering participants to build self-efficacy, career interests, and advocacy skills.
