Currently looking for new opportunitiesPart of the team which brought the Internet to the UK in 1992, Jon was more recently founder and Managing Director of both FidoNet and Fido Telecom Ltd.Previous enterprises have included White Label Communications, Redbus Interhouse PLC and Demon Internet Ltd.Prior to embarking on a career in IT, Jon worked in the finance sector as a Registered Representative and Trader for firms including Lloyds Bank Stock Brokers, Fyshe Horton Finney (Second City Securities) and Chambers and Remington Stock Brokers.1992 saw the birth of the Internet in the UK and Morby was one of the first on the scene operating the Birmingham Point of Presence for Demon Internet Ltd. By 1995 Morby had moved to London and spent a further 5 years at Demon with responsibilities for areas including Technical Support and Next Generation systems (Advanced Technologies). Key areas included email and networking systems.Following on from Demon, Morby spent time with interactive investor plc and worked on their online trading systems, and was involved in the flotation of Lastminute.com.Morby joined Redbus Interhouse PLC in 2000 and focussed on the roll out of 14 companies across 9 companies building and operating state of the art data centres (Redbus Interhouse was sold to TeleCity Group in 2006).After September 11th, 2001 and the fall of the twin towers Jon decided to return to an area he loved and formed FidoNet to focus on providing quality hosting and co-location services focussing specifically on the B2B and Government sectors.
