Apart from this, I also developed and instituted a robust hiring campaign to fill critical vacancies for transportation managers and private fleet drivers, while also encouraging staff to challenge established norms and ask "WHY".• Support, manage and oversee key staff for a large private fleet of tanker trucks, 53' vans, sleeper/day cab trucks, and localized delivery vehicles for home and office deliveries that spans most of the continental United States.• Worked closely with purchasing to obtain a $3.8-million-dollar savings to original budget for 2022 on ocean freight from China to U.S. ports, drawing on years of previous relationships with specific carriers and vendors.• Efficiently managed private fleet that would save $960K remainder of year (2022) in comparison to increased common carrier usage on 21 open driver positions, which will translate to just under $4.0M annually.• Successfully developed and managed a multi-mode transportation budget of $1.1 Billion, including truckload, LTL, intermodal, ocean, and parcel freight

Furthermore, I developed programs with KPIs for service and dependability aimed at cost-cutting and improvement, and managed and reported on transportation costs, while overseeing shipments from the Joann Stores DC's to retail store locations. • Oversaw and managed a $120 million multi-mode transportation budget, covering truckload, LTL, intermodal, ocean, air freight, and parcel freight.• Steered overall activities of five direct report transportation managers and 50+ staff to ensure smooth flow of departmental operations.• Supported ecomm and seasonal volume for 70% of Joann stores by participating in strategic designing and implementation of a new 835,000 square foot fulfillment facility near Columbus.

Served Associated Materials for 20 years as a direct associate and later in an outside 3PL consulting role, where I created departmental transportation measurements, evaluated all logistics services operations, and developed and implemented both long and short term initiatives. Oversaw and managed the Corporate Transportation Department for AMI. In addition, I worked directly with our Regional Distribution Center located in Ashtabula, OH and helped provide guidance and oversight to the management to that facility.
