I am a highly motivated person, who has an intense desire to make a positive contribution to the endeavors I am participating in. I attended North Carolina Central University (NCCU), where I received a Bachelor of Science in Geography. While attending NCCU I participated in a cooperative training program at the United States Geological Survey. After NCCU and the USGS I moved onto the University of Maryland, where I received an Master's of Art in Geography. My thesis work focused on the use of satellite imagery to estimate crop biomass. After graduating I began work at NASA's, employed by Hughes STX, where I was involved with field experiments that were designed to validate climate models and remote sensing algorithms. I continued my work at NASA, employed by George Mason University, working at the Distributed Active Archive Center, where I provided Science support and outreach for remote sensing and climatology data sets. For the past five years I have been working at the Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI), which is part of the University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill. At RENCI I have been involved with projects focused on modeling hurricane storm surges, and monitoring chemicals in the environment. These projects required me to process and analyze data, develop database backend, and web based frontends among other things.
