• Leading process improvements, safety initiatives, product development, and daily problem solving activities as a main production engineer for 2 highly energetic material production and assembly lines.• Executing installation, commissioning, and industrialisation of two semi-automated 50 ton hydraulic pyrotechnic presses for current production and future projects.• Design and introduction of new tooling and equipment to support and develop sustaining product and NPI intobusiness, including low rate production, verification and serial manufacture.• Creation of new manufacturing lines, including development of manual and automated processes, driving a 300% production capacity increase by implementing design for manufacture and lean techniques.

• Lead new technology initiatives, including capital investment, equipment upgrades, and installation, reducing operation cycle times by 80%.• Facilitated of all aspects of manufacturing engineering, from progress planning, tooling, inspection, lean methodologies and process capability.• Undertook research project "Wing of the Future," which centred on new design and assembly methods for future generation aircraft manufacture.• Supported the integration of new product packages to the business (NPI), facilitating all aspects of manufacture from design to manufacturing requirements.

• Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certified through installation of semi-automated tooling, which lead to a 28h per month saving.• Worked closely with other members of the Engineering departments, providing support to the wider team, playing an integral role in executing short and long-term projects.• Provided technical support to production teams in a vast range of manufacturing processes as part of a team and as an individual.• Problem solved day to day production issues, including quality, tooling, and documentation.

The role was for a pro-active undergraduate with a logical and organised approach to problem solving and excellent interpersonal skills. This was within the Engineering team, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager and involved:-• Working in a low volume, high precision and high complexity manufacturing environment• Reading and communicating information presented on complex engineering drawings.• Working with Production, Quality, Sub-contractors, Customers and other internal departments to improve manufacturing processesThe opportunity arose to work on a number of different projects, including:-• Machine installation, commissioning & programming • Cost savings• Creation of standard operating procedures• General component based improvement activity• Component cost analysis• Definition of training procedures and plans• Quality improvement of flagged parts
