As head of Lab Clinical Research in Brain and Cardiovascular Injury at the Mario Negri Institute (Milan, Italy) I manage a multidisciplinary team specialized in the design, coordination and execution of clinical trials in the fields of cardiology and intensive care medicine. My core tasks involve providing epidemiological and methodological support, designing of new studies and analyzing their outcomes. Working with large clinical trials, both completed and ongoing, gives me insight in the many different aspects of trials."From patient perspective to molecular profiling", the title of my PhD thesis (2019) captures my experience in working with translational data. I've performed my PhD in the departments of Molecular Epidemiology and Orthopedics at the Leiden University Medical Center (Leiden, the Netherlands), which gave me insight in fundamental research as well as in the practical and clinical aspects of trials and patient-researcher interaction.Prior to my PhD, I've combined the Research Master “Lifestyle & Chronic Disorders” (epidemiology) with the Bachelor "Biomedical Science" at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, this provided me with a solid background in epidemiologic research as well as an understanding of underlying biologic processes. During my time as a Treasurer for the international student fraternity “Erasmus Student Network VU Amsterdam” I have learned the responsibilities of being a leader and the importance of working together as a team in an international environment.
