My responsibilities included preparing and presenting key business drivers, risks and opportunities to the CFO and Controller on a monthly basis; building bottoms-up models for annual budget & quarterly forecasts; and managing the Control team to ensure internal & external regulatory compliance across 50+ legal entities.Outside of the normal deliverables, I established a novel methodology to evaluate EBITDA by product & segment. I created a financial model to leverage existing BPC data, defined success metrics for investment benchmarking across products and integrated PowerBI to drive greater insight. I also formalized global capex performance metrics and established standard reporting parameters with international business partners.

I partnered closely with 4 separate business units to evaluate monthly performance, build year-to-go forecasts and develop action plans as necessary.On a semi-annual basis, I led the creation of a worldwide consolidated investment report for our Executive Leadership Team. As the Specialty Performance finance partner, I advised product marketing leadership on optimal investment strategies for seasonal product line offerings. I developed & managed a dynamic financial model leveraging price, cost and quantity inputs to forecast gross margin and highlight risks & opportunities to the budget throughout the product development process. In 2017, I joined a project team tasked with reinventing how we cost & quote footwear for the first time in Nike’s history. I created a financial model to forecast the gross margin impact of full implementation based on a minimal sample set. I was presented with the highest Finance award after my model accuracy was validated to be within 1.5% of actual costs upon our first round of quotes.

I guided strategic margin expansion across the full Easton bike, Bell & Giro product portfolio. I wore multiple hats in this role, shifting dynamically with the needs of our different business units to support their growth. Responsibilities included driving product line optimization, material sourcing strategy planning, creating pricing model analytics and advising on a new ERP software introduction.I created and introduced a predictive costing tool, enabling design teams to proactively plan product features with an ROI mindset. Margins grew 160 bps in the first year of use while product time to market fell 10% due to fewer sample & quote cycles.

I owned development of NVH materials and adhesives from ideation through vehicle launch. I worked closely with external suppliers and internal business partners in the US and Japan to benchmark competitors, enhance existing offerings and introduce novel material solutions.In 2010, I identified a high-performance material currently in use across the industry from a non-partner supplier. I performed extensive testing and hosted the VP of global material development on a supplier tour to demonstrate the advantages of approving the new supplier. The material was approved and introduced globally with superior performance and lower cost compared to the incumbent.

I designed epoxy underfill processes and programs for small form factor packages. I programmed the full underfill process in our development manufacturing line and managed a team of technicians to maximize production output and minimize failure rates.I co-authored a patent application utilizing surface-modifying coatings to control epoxy flow during production. The patent was approved in 2010 and enables a novel method to reduce package size without jeopardizing in-service reliability due to solder failure.
