I played a crucial role in supporting mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless integration and alignment of technology platforms post-transaction.My work at McKinsey was characterized by a deep commitment to understanding the unique challenges faced by each client and developing bespoke solutions that leveraged technology to drive efficiency, innovation, and competitive advantage. During my tenure as a Senior Advisor, I specialized in conducting thorough due diligence on enterprise systems for private equity companies. This role required a deep dive into the technical, operational, and strategic aspects of potential investment opportunities, assessing their technological robustness, market position, and growth potential. My work enabled investors to make informed decisions, highlighting opportunities for optimization and innovation while identifying potential risks and challenges. Collaborating closely with investment teams, I provided insights that shaped investment strategies, facilitated successful acquisitions, and drove the digital transformation agendas of portfolio companies.

Line of Business FinanceEstablished and headed the global development organization Line of Business Finance within the Products and Innovation board area reporting directly to the board member Bernd Leukert. Managed with full product responsibility the area of Accounting, Profitability, Financial Operations, Central Finance, Revenue Accounting, Treasury, Global Risk and Compliance, Real Estate and Financials Cloud Innovations over 800 colleagues.Simple Finance & S/4 HANA FinanceBuilt the first Simple Finance prototype at the Hasso Plattner Institute, was responsible for the productization of Simple Finance at SAP and drove with the concept of the Universal Journal the biggest disruptive change since R/3 in the accounting component of SAP Finance. Made with the consequent adoption of HANA concepts and UX/Fiori renewals the LoB Finance a frontrunner within the development organization and a growth area for SAP. Achieved with the release of Simple Finance 1.0, 2.0 (1503), Central Finance and S/4 HANA Finance 3.0 (1605) outstanding business results.Digitization of FinanceDrove the vision of the SAP Digital Finance to provide finance organizations with the platform and tools to allow them to completely reinvent how they work in the digital era. Implemented the first version of the SAP Digital Boardroom to foster this vision.Cloud TransformationStarted the Agile Software Engineering and cloud mindset transformation within the LoB Finance to push cloud qualities in all Finance products. Released with the Real Spend app the first cloud-native Finance application on the Hana Cloud Platform (HCP) establishing continuous delivery and API-based consumption of the digital core (S/4 HANA) creating a pace-layered application strategy and a line of business focused decomposed ERP strategy for SAP S/4 HANA.

Initiated the SAP Innovation Center in Potsdam and established a team of about 100 colleagues in Potsdam to drive cultural change and innovation into the bigger organization. Set up of interdisciplinary development teams and an office environment that facilitates the Design Thinking methodology as a mindset.

Was part of the founding team of the in-memory database research project “HANA” that started in 2006 in cooperation with SAP at the Hasso Plattner Institute. As part of the team implemented the first prototype of an in-memory database based SAP ERP showing the feasibility of the proposed architecture. Furthermore, created in 2009, together with Martin Grund, the in-memory database storage engine HYRISE to conduct research on in-memory database structures and key concepts of SansSouciDB. This research led to several top-ranked publications and patents.
