Hello! I'm currently looking to join the workforce in engineering and my passion is in technical design and manufacturing. I'd like to find a position that would allow me to help bring new or improved products to the market. I've always been a hands-on guy and my curiosity of cars, boats and engines drove me to seek and develop a strong understanding of how & why things are made the way they are. Some of this interest stems from late nights watching How It's Made in awe of the technical advancements and ingenious methods that allow for mass production. This kicked off my education experience where I obtained an Associates in Science in Mathematics, an Associates for Transfer in Engineering, and a Certificate of Proficiency in Technical Design from Chabot College. I was fortunate to then be accepted to Cal Poly's College of Engineering in San Luis Obispo to continue my studies. I transferred as a Mechanical Engineer but ultimately found my passion in Manufacturing Engineering where I could learn more about additive manufacturing, machining, casting, product development and mass production - the things that really piqued my interest. "Learn by Doing" - Cal Poly's motto - was the best thing I could have asked for. I had the pleasure of working in many teams to accomplish all kinds of projects related to CNC and manual machining, Automation, Quality Engineering, Metal Casting, Injection Molding, and Product Development. Some of my experience includes mapping new and existing processes in order to ensure a clear and thorough understanding of manufacturing processes. This allows me to perform effective time studies in order to analyze the flow and distribution of materials and W.I.P. on an assembly line. Using this information, I can help design and implement process improvement techniques and theories, such as lean (JIT) manufacturing, kanban, and line balancing. This includes creating FDM printed fixture designs for ease of assembly, product redesign for cost and manufacturability, and new process development.I believe Additive Manufacturing can be leveraged to simplify designs, reduce tolerance stacking and points of failure, and offer increased performance with the added benefit of weight reduction. I joined the Cal Poly SLM Club to gain hands-on experience operating an SLM Solutions 125hl Selective Laser Melting machine using 316 stainless steel. This, paired with the Additive Manufacturing course allowed me to have a strong grasp of the theories and methods needed to implement this in the future.I like meeting new people and would love to chat!
