Analysis of spray performance with an Air-Core-Liquid-Ring nozzle for high-viscosity and shear-thinning liquids. The study is focused on analyzing experimentally how the droplet size distribution and the spray angle are affected by liquid viscosity and operating conditions.- Develop an image analysis algorithm in Matlab using an existing high-speed camera to establish a spray angle evaluation method.- Correlate the internal flow instabilities in the outlet channel with the stability of the measures of the spray angle.- Extend the testing of the spray performance to viscosities of up to 3 Pa·s, verifying the feasibility of its atomization by manipulating operating conditions such as the air-to-liquid ratio (ALR).
