Policy Analyst
CurrentPOSITION OVERVIEWReporting to the Finance and Policy Manager, the Policy Analyst is responsible for assisting in the development and evaluation of dairy policy options. This position analyzes existing and proposed policies from an economic perspective and assesses the potential impacts on Alberta’s dairy industry as well as on the Western Milk Pool. Regular forecasting of provincial milk production and quota position is also required. The Policy Analyst communicates policy information to producers and Alberta Milk staff through meetings, discussion papers and contributions to regular publications. Communicating with Alberta’s dairy producers and stakeholders is a key component of this position and encompasses about 20% of the time. This will include communication about policy, quota or working directly with potential dairy farmers through the new producer assistance program (NPAP).
