The Air Force Special Victims Counsel (SVC) program assists sexual assault victims. Victims have a completely confidential communication, which is protected by attorney-client privilege. All active-duty military members, regardless of who the perpetrator is, are eligible to use the SVC. Adult and minor dependents are also eligible for SVC services when the assault has a military connection. The assigned attorney is with the victim throughout the interviews, hearings and courts-martial to provide them with the legal advice and support they need. Special Victims' Paralegal assist SVCs and their clients ensuring crime victims' rights under UCMJ (10 USC §806b) are afforded.

Examins, adjudicates, and settles claims for and against US Gov. pursuant to AF applicable laws and regulations. Reviews and processes admin demotions and separations, line of duty determinations, report of survey investigations, drafts and reviews legal reviews and briefs as needed. Assists attorneys in Magistrate Court and Juvenile Misconduct Board. Determines eligibility for legal assistance and provides notary service under Title 10 USC. Exercises overall responsibility over general law section of the base legal office.

Assisting in functions related to military justice (courts-martial, non-judicial punishment), depositions. Planning, managing and performing legal funtions not progibited by the statutes. Performs paraprofessional and legal research functions under the supervision of a judge advocate. Performs legal research and evidence eval, drafting of charges and specifications, conducts witness/victim interviews, reviews case status, helps develop case strategy. Examins all actions and records of legal proceedings for accuracy, correctness, completion prior to commanders' review. Uses AMJAMS for case monitoring and analysis.
