St Ann’s Hospice cares and helps around 3,000 patients (over the age of 16) and their families and carers every year who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life limiting illnesses. We deliver care that is special and unique to each individual person. Around 40% of inpatients at St Ann’s Hospice return home after treatment.My role at St Ann's as a corporate fundraiser is to work with and support businesses fundraising for the hospice. Responsibilities include:Securing event sponsorshipRecruiting new businessAccount management Organising the annual Golf DayWorking closely with the events team, supporting events targeted at the business community Maintaining accurate and up to date records on Raisers Edge CRM system Completing applications for supportResearching prospects Pitching and presenting to existing and potential new supporters

As one of the oldest charities in the UK, we provide expert support, advice and training to anyone affected by sight loss and other disabilities to develop the skills and independence they need to lead lives that are as full as possible. Our charity services support blind and visually impaired children and babies, their families, young and older people and we help hundreds of visually impaired, blind and disabled people each year. We work throughout the North of England, with centres and communities in Yorkshire, North West and the North East including a further education college and an Arts and Craft Centre near Harrogate.

As part of a new Community Fundraising team, I was responsible for raising the profile of the charity on a local level and seeking new supporters. I was also responsible for promoting national events on a local level and organising an Afternoon Tea at Eaton Hall as part of the 'National Tea Break'.

Alzheimer's Society is the leading care and research charity for people living with dementia and their carers. My role included managing volunteer fundraising groups, seeking and managing local corporate supporters and organising two Memory Walks in Manchester and Liverpool.
