Current•Successfully work with Hospital CEOs and executive leadership at 27 hospitals (public, private, district, university, children’s, urban/rural, and behavioral health) by anticipating, tracking, and develop strategies on legislative issues of importance to hospitals at the local, state, and federal level of government.•Member of the Hospital Council Executive Management Team developing the organizations culture, yearly priorities, and develop strategies around complex issue such as mental health, behavioral health, workforce, and homelessness.•Advocacy lead for Hospital Council on all state and federal legislation, by translating what legislation means to our members, conducting local grassroots activities supporting the Californian Hospital Association’s advocacy priorities, leading advocacy days at the State Capitol and working with our federal lobbyist on advocacy days in DC.•Educate hospital leaders on the political environment facing hospitals and the importance of conducting legislative outreach and candidate development. •Meet on a regular basis with and address federal, state and local elected officials on hospital/healthcare issues.•Created Homeless Patient Discharge task forces, which is being duplicated throughout the organization, bringing together hospitals, local government, housing and homeless advocates to develop effective discharge planning strategies and new approaches to better serve the homeless population. •Developed and implemented an organizational fundraising plan for the California Hospital Political Action.•Increase Hospital Council and member hospital visibility by developing and presenting economic and health impact reports of hospitals, leading panel discussions on issues, such as mental health stigma, the ACA, and workforce challenges in healthcare.
