First and foremost I am a feminist. I am a creative and strategic individual with 20 years of cultural sector experience in the North East. A team player with leadership experience (including as Chair of Trustees) in the subsidised theatre sector, local authority and the funding and charitable sector.My day job at Community Foundation means I have a broad overview of the charity and voluntary sector in our region. Seeing the amazing work that is happening across the region, at the same time as seeing inequalities deepen, is humbling and strengthens my commitment to the North East.I consider myself an honorary Geordie and my two kids are resolutely so! I live in Whitley Bay and make the most of that by swimming in the sea as often as I can in the summer, and gazing longingly at it from under a big coats and hat in the winter.I have recently (Jan 24) joined the the board of trustees at Young Women's Film Academy. Check them out because they make amazing things happen in our region. I was previously Chair of Trustees for Open Clasp and they will always have a little bit of my heart!
