Options for International Health (OIH) is a registered charity, established by Options in 2015 as a charitable entity that can work alongside Options’ programmes to bring sustainable improvements in the health of women and children. I founded the charity in order to support the delivery of key projects that Options was implementing, successfully raising millions of donated funds towards this work.OIH focuses on those living in poverty, disadvantaged or vulnerable situations. Over my eight+ years as Managing Director, the company expanded its work and reputation as a leading global health consultancy, with regional bases in Kenya, Nigeria and Nepal and a strong presence in many other countries. With regular multi-year engagements for UK Aid, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, KfW and many others, I led the business and its international team of experts and innovators in their work tackling some of the world’s most pressing health challenges. I guided and led the strategic evolution of this business over a period of huge change in the international development sector. The results are exciting: Options' work grew from sexual and reproductive health to the broad spectrum of health system strengthening. While specialist in health, the relevance beyond health also grew in fields ranging from climate change, water and sanitation, nutrition, and multi-hazard resilient infrastructure increasingly, Options is being recognised as a channel for innovation and an organisation that can facilitate change. From governments to grassroots groups, Options work enables a wide range of individuals and organisations to improve health outcomes.

As Director of Programmes I was responsible for the delivery of multiple projects in Africa, Asia and the Middle East as well as the securing of new business and the start-ups of new programmes in new countries. I oversaw work in (and travelled to) India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone as well as brokering business arrangements with partners in Europe and the USA. This enabled the company to grow steadily, year on year, both in turnover and profit, and to consistently achieve high scores in the assessments of each project’s results.
