 Produce local monthly management accounts, including KPI’s and written commentary on variances to budget and re-forecast. Consolidation of three distribution divisions into a monthly pack for the UK distribution board. Communicate local results to the management team at the monthly exec meeting using narrative and visuals. Production of annual budgets and two re-forecasts per year. Liaising with group companies for sales forecasts and the other distribution centres to ensure continuity of cost allocation. Accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of the fixed asset register. Resolution of Trust accounting financial and procedural queries. Supporting the Trust accounting team via telephone and email (remote site). Completion and submission of monthly data, annual budgets and reforecasts to our French head office using Magnitude. Preparation of statutory accounts UKGAAP, together with the completion of a tax pack for the auditors. Oversee one direct report, historically 3 heads. Ad hoc projects including: o SAP implementation - responsible for data cleansing and reconciliation of creditors, GL account transactions and fixed assets from legacy system to SAP.o assessing the introduction of the new National Living Wage and its impact on future staff costs. o assess the requirement of employee numbers and possible redundancy timings, along with expected costs.

 Employed to transfer distribution accounting from Holland to the UK. Discuss and document Dutch procedures. Review procedures to ensure controls were robust and in line with UK practice. Reconciliation and review of stock related balance sheet accounts. Retained for an additional month to cover the business analyst’s holiday – producing sales analysis and ad hoc management information.

 Production of monthly accounts for FD together with investigation of significant variances month on month and year on year. Intrastat and national statistics submissions. Production of quarterly VAT return and liaising with HMRC inspectors as required. Balance sheet reconciliations. Supply monthly payroll data to payroll bureau and dealing with or acting as intermediary with employee payroll queries. Oversee the running of purchase ledger, weekly payroll and sales ledger functions – 2 ½ reporting staff. Continual assessment of accounting systems, including the implementation of and amendment to procedures as required. Major involvement of annual statutory audit, including production of supporting schedules. Ad hoc performance reporting including KPIs required by supermarket chains.Earlier roles at World Flowers included Weekly payroll circa 100 staff. Sole responsibility for the administration of The Flower Chain (a trading arm of WFL) including credit control, fleet management and dealing with customer complaints/queries. Stock control and order processing.
