Project Manager - Low Carbon Estate
CurrentFrequent changes in energy policy and regulation have required major changes in the way in which the National Trust operates its residential and commercial estates (c. 7500 properties). As Project Manager I help manage the research, development and implementation of a new approach to ensure the National Trust meets both legal obligation (now and in the future) and achieves strategic carbon and sustainability reduction targets. I manage a number of internal and external stakeholders including internal consultancy staff (c. 120 Building Surveyors, 150 Rural Surveyors/Estate Managers) and a wide range of external stakeholders (central government bodies, funding bodies, research and academic communities, other heritage organisations) ensuring all parties are fully and appropriately involved and informed.Alongside compliance obligations, I lead and manage the delivery of our internal environmental standards to meet net carbon zero by 2030. As part of this, I ensure that the relevant professional communities are aware and trained appropriately and are confident when approaching retrofit. Another part of my role is to understand and analyse data as well as the ability to share stories and inspiring people by the effective use of information sharing and best practise (internally and externally). I represent the National Trust externally, leading the cause to engage externally with other heritage organisations, landlords and government bodies.
