The R. Tucker Thompson Sail Training Trust delivers life changing youth development voyages on a tall ship in the Bay of Islands. This iconic Northland kaupapa (project) offers rangatahi (youth) maritime training, qualifications and employment, drives legacy conservation and links to employment and education. The not for profit Trust is powered by tourism, grants and sponsorship funding. Winner of the 2023 Northland Business Social Impact Award.

Treble Cone is a beautiful playground. It is home ground for some of the best freeskiers and snowboarders in the world and the hill holds a special place in the hearts of local Wanaka skiers and riders. TC is what skiing in New Zealand is all about - awesome terrain, good people and amazing scenery. Senior Management: As Head of Snow Sports I oversaw business development, operations and leadership across the snow sports school, the rental department, race lane management and Treble Cone’s competitive events. I managed the race and freeride programmes and worked with New Zealand and international teams to develop training opportunities, camps and custom training terrain. I was tasked with developing new areas of revenue in alignment with the high-level strategy.To achieve this I managed over 100 enthusiastic and passionate snow professionals; together we delivered world-class snow sports at Treble Cone.

Snow Sports New Zealand is passionate about carving out a clear path for Kiwis, from first turns to podiums in skiing and snowboarding, nationally and internationally.This national sporting organisation, is based in Wanaka with the Sochi Winter Olympics clearly in its sights. The high performance arm of the operation is in full swing gearing up for this event in 2014 and planning for 2018 and beyond.The focus to build depth, strengthen grassroots programmes, develop coach and athlete pathways and manage competitions lay the foundation for the future ski and snowboard champions. Ski Resort Management - HR, marketing, operations, health and safety, event management, finance and management of all stakeholders.Snow Farm NZ is New Zealand’s only cross-country skiing resort. The resort maintains 55km of world-class Nordic ski trails in the Pisa Range in the Cardrona Valley. The resort facilities include a day lodge, two backcountry huts, a biathlon range, a ski school and a rental department.Responsibilities were to:• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability for the resort.• Operational Management: Oversee daily resort operations, including ski area facilities, accommodation, grooming, and guest services to ensure a seamless experience.• Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, control costs, and drive revenue generation across multiple departments, ensuring financial targets and profitability are met.• Safety and Compliance: Uphold rigorous health, safety, and environmental standards to protect guests and staff, including risk management for all on-mountain and alpine activities.• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the board, community, regulatory bodies, and partners, to support resort objectives and growth.

Developed the Snow Park ski and snowboard school, Park School. Senior management team, product development, marketing, athlete programmes, HR and guest management, budget management, coach relationships, safety and fun.
