I have worked in Higher Education for 15+ years professionally as well as K-12. I have recently transitioned into the Civic Tech world within the Office of Innovation, for the state of New Jersey. My experience has ranged from vocational to traditional 4-year universities, as well as a Career and Technical high school, where I have taught, directed, and led DEI initiatives and programs, Libraries, writing labs, and trainings/facilitations. I now serve at the Executive Assistant for Dave Cole, Chief Innovation Officer within the Office of Innovation. Utilizing a dignity framework to create belonging, equity becomes more achievable regardless of the institution/organization. I believe we can achieve equity when we generate a sense of belonging first, centering that every human is born with and deserving of dignity.
