I began my working career as a Secretary / Personal Assistant and for a couple of years, I ran my own Secretarial Service. After experiencing an intense divorce, involving court appearances and AVO applications, I discovered my passion to assist other families in crisis. After completing a Diploma in Counselling and being unsuccessful in job applications, I began studying the Community Services Community IV Certificate. I contacted Parramatta Mission in regards to the opening of the New Hope Hostel and was put in contact with Michael Wright. After an interview with Michael, I was employed as the Christmas Coordinator. On my last day, Michael offered me a position as a Case Manager at Hope Hostel and began that position in January 2011. During this time I have been working with homeless families, couples, single females and single males. I have also completed my Diploma in Community Services. When the new reform came in for Going Home Staying Home, my position could not be guaranteed, so I accepted a position within the Property team. This position entailed assessing new lease applications, property inspections, lease preparations and signings, data entry on the database system Tenant Management System (TMS), Tribunal Hearings, receipting and lodging maintenance reports. After working within this position for over 1 year I accepted a new position with Sherpa Kids, so I could be closer to my family. After working in Before and After School care for around 18 months, I was offered a temporary position as a Client Service Officer - Tenancy, with Wentworth Community Services. After 8 weeks, I accepted a full time position.
