Working within YC Hertfordshire, supporting 16-25 year olds into employment. Partnering with employers working on employment strategies. Supporting the employer with work experience programmes through to offers of employment. Key responsibilities:• Building strong business relationships with employers, schools and the service users• Supporting the employer with job descriptions, work experience duties and terms of employment through to accessing government funding• Keeping up to date with labour market information• Contacting companies to promote the service and building a database of clients

Dedicated to creating and managing the Hertfordshire Apprenticeship Ambassador scheme, working with partners around the county to promote and sustain the service. Responsibilities have included growing and developing the scheme, by building relationships to assist with supporting future planning. Other responsibilities consist of creating ambassador training modules and motivating and inspiring apprentices to be a part of the ambassador scheme. The scheme has grown from strength to strength and is now being embedded into the Youth Connexions service provided within Hertfordshire. The role has also required the sharing of best practices for the scheme with other counties as a part of a project funded by the National Apprenticeship Service to promote the progression in apprenticeships.Key Responsibilities• Supporting Hertfordshire County Council strategy plans including Raising the Participation Age Pilot and the Apprenticeship Implementation Strategy • Developing awareness of apprenticeships within schools, employers and parents• Playing a key part in delivery of NEET job clubs, highlighting the benefits of being an apprentice• Working alongside partner agencies on a variety of incentives, locally and nationally • Developing and maintaining working relationships with the National Apprenticeship Service• Working with Training Providers to encourage progression in apprenticeships • Developing an extensive knowledge and understanding of Apprenticeship Frameworks and policies• Presenting key information to training providers, Jobcentre Plus and National Apprenticeship Service. Presenting key updates and results achieved on regular basis.

Working within a newly created role to establish and grow employer engagement. Building rapport with Youth Connexions staff to identify the needs of young people.Key Responsibilities• Identifying suitable employers in each of the local areas.• Developing marketing material to raise awareness of the service.• Canvassing employers, face to face and over the phone for new vacancies.• Influencing employers to recruit young people and highlighting the benefits they will add to their business.• Drawing on labour market knowledge to proactively maximise opportunities.• Working with the Chamber of Commerce to increase employer engagement and attending networking events.
