At Merchant Cantos, I worked with a team producing films that conveyed sometimes complex messages, in engaging and entertaining ways. My role involved developing creative treatments to effectively engage the audience - to train, promote or influence behaviour. I also honed my skills in script writing, producing, directing, post production, on-camera interviews and coaching talent.This work also involves a great deal of organisational, administrative and client relationship capability, including budgets, scheduling production and crew, producing and directing on location and supervising post-production, and client delivery. I have produced a wide variety of films - dramas, animations, studio-based training films, video trailers, interviews and pieces-to-camera. I am used to managing three or four projects concurrently, and working in collaboration with my own and other creative teams.

I worked with the award-winning and innovative BDA Communications corporate production team, on developing creative corporate film treatments, refining client briefs, scripting, directing, producing and post-producing corporate films, to achieve the clients' training, marketing and information objectives. BDA clients included Barclays, British Gas and Colt Telecommunications.

I was trained as a print journalist, and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in journalism at the University of Queensland. My career progressed as a prime-time television journalist and newsreader with the TEN network in Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia, for more than ten years. I also worked as a journalist/presenter with the Nine Network, KCRA 3 Sacramento California, and with the Australian Broadcasting Commission.
