I was one of the peer mentors at Ft. Hood, Texas. At TAPS events, I have served as a peer mentor for the adult children survivor group (adults whose military parent died on active duty) and for the suicide survivors group.Assisted with preparations for the Ft. Hood TAPS Regional events by making name tags and buttons, putting kids backpacks together, setting up the tables and supplies in the meeting rooms; assisted in preparing mailings, creating cards and address labels, coordinated with the USO regarding refreshments for the events

Co-leader of the youth department under supervision of the youth pastor for a year which included program planning, facilitating discussion, participating in outings, chaperoning two “lock ins” (sleepovers in the youth room at the church); starting a drama program, keeping the youth dept. bulletin board up to date with information and giving it a new, fresh look as needed; chaperoning/planning youth New Year’s Eve and Halloween party; vesper programs, dinners and movies, often held at my house.Office Assistant substitute: duties included answering phones, sending faxes, etc.

Started as crew leader and after 6 weeks began manager training; while still in training I was promoted to assistant manager of the night crew.

As crew member I worked on the grill, drive thru and front counter; worked as a member of the top crew (the preferred crew) during busiest times; assisted with birthday parties; cleaned tunnels in the play area after large parties

Talked/counseled with students to help resolve small conflicts amongst themselves; conducted weekly room inspections; assisted with informational hall meetings; checked and enforced lights-out schedule and security check of locked outside doors. In the Maintenance Dept. I answered phones, completed maintenance requests, cleaned the wood, metal and vehicle shops (sweeping, mopping, putting tools away, cleaning tools, de-greasing the floors, etc.)Co-leader of sound system team (PA system and movie projection system) for sports events, church, school assemblies and other school events.Also provided childcare for several of the faculty during non-school hours, and assisted in maintaining animals kept in the classrooms.
