· I have been working at Porter Dodson Solicitors since November as a temporary accounts assistant. Working in the busy accounts department has provided me with experience dealing with the financial side of law. Whilst working here I have vastly improved my administrative skills.· Day-to-day I deal with queries from colleagues elsewhere in the firm; I take payments from clients over the phone, and process these payments afterward.· I also deal with the transfer of funds for completions and Mortgage Redemptions. These include BACs and CHAPs transfers.

· Kitchen Assistant involved working as part of a team to ensure that the kitchen was kept clean and tidy and all meals were prepared on time to the highest standard in a stressful environment.· Stock rotation and counting.· Training new members of staff.· Working alone and being responsible for shutting down kitchen at the end of the day and locking up.· Interacting with patients and families to fulfil any special requests to provide impeccable customer service.

· As a care assistant, I was responsible for the personal care of my patients. This involved getting them up, washed and dressed. Taking care of any personal needs they have and getting them their food and drink. · I also accompanied patients to hospital appointments when necessary. · Working at Majesticare gave me experience working with severely disabled elderly people and people with dementia.

I became BioSoc president after 2 years on the committee as Education Rep. Running fortnightly meetings for up to 15 people required impeccable communication and leadership skills. During the meetings it was my responsibility to delegate tasks between the other committee members, listen to any updates on ongoing projects and give advice and suggestions where necessary. As president I oversaw all committee activities from organizing events, to the budget and the mentoring scheme run by BioSoc. I was also responsible for instigating collaborations with other societies and organizing affiliation with organisations outside of the university such as the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
