I am proud to be part of the team at Wirral Hospice St John's. Wirral Hospice St John's provides specialist palliative care for adults within the Wirral community. This care is free of charge for patients. Although the charity does receive some NHS funding, the majority of income is generated through voluntary donations.I was in my previous role as Community and Events Fundraiser for WUTH Charity based in Arrowe Park Hospital for 5 years and despite the challenges and opportunities which Covid-19 brought, I was able to gain appropriate experience and develop as a Fundraiser. I have also completed my Level 4 Certificate in Fundraising from the Institute of Fundraising which broadened and gave me a sound understanding of Charity Law, Funding in various sectors, Fundraising guidelines, best practice, and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice. I take pride in my strong interpersonal skills and relationship building techniques. This stems from a genuine care about the work I take on and the people who I would get involved with. This has been important to me throughout all my adult career, in my previous role at the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award I had to heavily rely on self-recruited volunteer support during difficult and timely committing events. I was responsible for training students in Higher Education with outdoor skills before taking them on their camping expeditions
