Gem Air is a small aviation business. As business manager in a small company, I wear a lot of hats, and am involved with everything from high level business decisions and planning, to financial analysis, to hiring and training, to day to day details. I am a problem solver, both big picture and in-the-moment. I assess current processes, and plan for and implement improvements. I work to solve logistical puzzles, and help train our people on how to interact with our customers. I gather data from our operations to get a more clear picture of what's going on, and use the information gleaned to make decisions about what to change (or not change) in the future.

Idaho River Journeys leads spectacular multi-day white water rafting trips down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho. I guide for them when I can.

Our mission:To create opportunity by connecting local people to locally available postsecondary education. Our priorities:1) Promoting and supporting locally available, career-focused postsecondary programs 2) Supporting postsecondary online learners of any kind, degree seeking or not 3) Advocating for education in Lemhi County, both in our community through a community ed program, and to outside communities through outreach and relationship-buildingMy job:Working with my committee, our community, and various partners to make all that happen, and to set up a system that will make it easier for future directors to move things forward.
