Jo is a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit civil and county Mediator, qualified Arbitrator, and registered mediator for the State of Florida's Department of Financial Services. She is also a chair-qualified Public Arbitrator with FINRA, a panelist at the American Arbitration Association and a certified member of the International Yacht Arbitration Council. Jo is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and was recently selected to the College of Commercial Arbitrators Associates Program, Class of 2023-2025. In 2023, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners appointed Jo to the Marine Advisory Committee (MAC) to provide guidance and recommendations related to the management and preservation of the county's waterways and marine resources. As an attorney, licensed in Delaware and Florida, Jo has practiced law for over 20 years, focusing on the areas of labor and employment, insurance law, alternative dispute resolution, and human resource diversity and sensitivity training.In addition to her ADR work at Stanley Legal Services, Jo proudly serves as the Director of Maritime Affairs at Colodny Fass where she spearheads the firm's initiatives and business development in the maritime industry. Jo comes by her salty credentials the old-fashioned way. She is the co-founder and CEO of a successful yacht management company in Fort Lauderdale - Stanley Yacht Services, Inc. which has been taking care of private yachts for over 19 years, providing year-round maintenance and project management services to discerning yacht owners.Currently pursuing her PhD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution, Jo takes advantage of her precious free time answering to the beck and call of her bossy puppy, Franklin. Fortunately, she has some help in that area, thanks to her husband and business partner, Ben.
