I've worked on the LEP programme since its inception, providing strategic direction for the challenges and the delivery of the programme. The LEP is the most fantastic of challenge prizes for young people aged 11-16. With a national reach the LEP engages students and teenagers to encourage & help them develop ideas, products and solutions for technology to help improve the world around them. These have included - the use of Satellite Data in year 1; IOT in year 2 - and this year's 2019/2020 prize to come up with tech concepts which use Artificial Intelligence, for social good. The ideas that are submitted never fail to surprise, inspire and build faith in the next generations whose creativity, intelligence and adaptability will most definitely make the world a better place. Work with Nesta also includes strategy & delivery for the education team's Cracking the Code challenge. A part of Maths' Mission - a 3-year programme to 'Make Maths Fun' - the competition, open to KS3 and KS4 students across the UK, aimed to encourage a love of maths and problem-solving outside the formal curriculum. In line with increased global security requirements, I'm proud to have initiated, supported and achieved the development of a new integrated security service offer for Mace and leading global defence prime Thales, combining both physical and cyber security expertise respectively, for public & private sector requirements across the UK. Positioning the team for growth in one of industry's fastest growing sectors. My time split with the Mace International team in the UK, saw responsiblity for sourcing leads and opportunities and working with the team to develop them into tangible opportunities for the business. Services also included linking bespoke project teams from industry contacts; leading peer reviews of bids and tenders and attending events. I also enjoyed the opportunity to deliver networking masterclasses and insights into the new business process, empowering team members to think about where the next project is coming from, as part of their day to day.
