About Joabe Marcos Souza

Professional with experience in the Aerospace industry working with flight dynamics, performance and flight test. I'm a good team player and I'm always open to new ideas, focusing on helping the team find the best solution.In the industry, I have worked on different successful aircraft certification programs over the years. In the academic area, I’m a PhD. Candidate at the University of São Paulo working with multidisciplinary design optimization of electric aircraft with distributed propulsion, including the development of an aircraft sizing software. I have solid knowledge in Matlab, Python, VBA and Fortran.In 2021 I worked with Dr. Daniel P. Raymer on the conceptual design of an airplane to operate on Mars. The paper ‘The Raymer Manned Mars Airplane: A Conceptual Design and Viasibility Study’ was presented and published at the 2021 AIAA Scitech Forum (https://arc.aiaa.org/doi/10.2514/6.2021-1187). Also, I worked with other researchers to create a mathematical model of COVID-19 intervention scenarios for São Paulo-Brazil. The article was published in Nature Communications (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-20687-y).In addition, I work as a volunteer guiding children in vulnerable situations because I believe in the power of science to transform society. As a hobby, I am a glider pilot and passionate about flying.
