Xavier began his legal practice in one of the largest and oldest firms in the country, Messrs Chooi & Company before moving on to eventually set up his own law firm. He practises both civil and criminal litigation. His clients include individuals and corporate entities both local and foreign. Xavier is also regularly engaged by foreign law firms who have no presence in Malaysia.Having conducted both trials at courts of first instance as well as hearings at appellate stage, Xavier's advocacy experience is as evident as the practical advice that he offers to his clients. As part of his civil practice, Xavier advises and represents clients in matters concerning intellectual property, land, tort and contractual disputes.On the criminal practice front, Xavier has been sought after for advice and representation on matters pertaining to corruption, money laundering and corporate regulatory compliance. Xavier has also represented numerous foreigners in relation to immigration legal issues including litigation, assistance to secure release from detention and expediting deportation process. Xavier has extensive experience dealings with authorities such as the Royal Malaysia Police, Royal Malaysian Customs, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Immigration Department of Malaysia, Department of Health and Department of Environment, just to name a few.Apart from litigation work, Xavier is a certified trainer of the Human Resources Development Corporation. He conducts training on law and procedure.
