In my role as Deputy CEO I work closely with the group CEO in leading our subsidiary businesses from an owner perspective. Together with external board members we provide strategic guidance and offer group company managing directors a sounding board in addition to common annual clock based corporate governance. I am involved in long term sustainable value growth with a special focus on operational excellence across the group. In addition I am accountable for all shared services produced centrally. While retaining my CFO duties, including real estate and legal matters, I have assumed accountability over group ICT, group level sustainability agenda, communications as well as HR.

I am head of finance & business control, reporting, business process development, risk management, real estate and legal affairs. I am a member of Algol Group management team and serve as board member in the subsidiaries participating actively in driving growth and profitability development across all businesses.Algol comprises six business units (Algol Chemicals, Algol Diagnostics, Algol Technics, Algol Trehab, Histolab Products and Suomen Unipol) that import and sell thousands of different products for the industry and healthcare sectors. The foundation is established in 1948, The purpose is, by way of financial aid, to support the daily life of Swedish-speaking people with visual impairment in Finland. The foundation grants subsidies as well as provides rental apartments adapted to the needs of people with visual impairment. The financial assets exceed 40 m€ and the investment proceeds are used to execute the purpose.

The Stiftelsen Sedmigradsky sr foundation owns and operates three private kindergartens in Helsinki with over 120 children and more than 30 staff members.I have been the Chairman of the Board in the Foundation since 2005. The Board oversees the Foundation’s day-to-day operations, manages the investment portfolio (ca 30 m€) and is responsible for continuously developing the Foundation’s vision and strategy.

The Finnish Association of Corporate Treasurers (FACT) is an informally organized club of corporate treasurers of Finnish large corporates. In 2016 my fellow treasurers elected me to head the organization and act as its official representative in the European Association of Corporate Treasurers. The purpose of FACT is to discuss topical items of common interest and share best practices within the treasury field among colleagues in different companies.

Paroc (part of Owens Corning) is the leading manufacturer of energy-efficient insulation solutions in the Baltic Sea region.I was accountable for the treasury and funding operations, group accounting including consolidated IFRS financial statements, risk management, and the local finance operations in Finland, Sweden and Poland. I led a team of senior finance experts in the Nordics, Poland and Lithuania.I acted in several internal steering bodies such as the Information Security Committee and the Board of the Financial Service Center. I also attended Paroc’s Audit Committee meetings and led group-level risk management, evaluation and mitigation work including continuity planning. I also managed tax strategy.//Landmark experience and achievementsI consider developing the business in a manner that has brought significant operative savings, improved performance and increased available free capital as my main achievements.I established treasury and investor relations functions and contributed to setting up a Financial Service Center. I implemented an enterprise risk management procedure whereby the risks to strategy execution were continuously evaluated. We also developed a business continuity plan for the production, supply chain management and ICT functions. I participated in several demanding capital structure and ownership change processes, e.g. recap of the corporate loan portfolio and a lender-led restructuring and subsequent ownership change. I was in a key role when we obtained Paroc’s first public ratings (NY law Offering Memorandum, a high yield bond) with largely UK-based investors, and managed a successful refinancing achieving considerable cuts in interests, which ensured flexibility in strategy execution. I took the role of group treasurer in 2007. My responsibilities included the group’s bank relationships, liquidity and cash management, foreign exchange and interest rate risk management, commodities trading and treasury related policies and applications. Kaupthing Bank was a major international Icelandic bank.At Kaupthing, I managed designated customer relationships and different project assignments. My main focus was on building up the internal bank. I rationalized the use of capital and its internal pricing, developed the management of interest rate risk together with the controlling function, and optimized foreign exchange flows between departments. The financial implications of these measures were significant.

Danske Bank is a Nordic universal bank established in 16 countries. Before joining Danske Bank, I gathered industry experience as a junior dealer and a back-office employee at Nordea, Unibank and Aktia Bank. At Danske, my duties included attending to designated customer relationships and all treasury client relationships together with my colleagues. The daily routines involved financing the two billion EUR loan portfolio of the branch. In the fall 2002 I served two months in Copenhagen in the Danske Markets headquarters focusing on interest rate derivative training.
