Gained widespread accolades from the President and board of directors.* Managed communications team members including assigning tasks, balancing workloads, editing and project oversight, and performance evaluation. * Created communications, messaging and digital strategies to advance Clean Energy, and other campaigns across six western states. Increased coverage and leveraged WRA’s position amongst environmental and clean energy stakeholders of the West. Gained over 800 media clips and opinion editorials a year.* Co-facilitated communications committee for coalition shaping Colorado’s state water plan. Developed and coordinated successful messaging and shared outreach strategies with seven organizational partners. The Sierra Nevada Alliance protects and restores Sierra lands, water, wildlife and rural communities. I grew the organization from a budget of under $200,000 and two staff to a budget over $1.5 million and over ten staff (36 including AmeriCorps members). Achieved recognition and prominence for the Sierra Nevada Alliance as a regional conservation leader. Excelled at fundraising, communications and program development. * Built relationships and grew the grassroots network from under 30 member groups to over a 100-dues paying groups in 2013. Accomplished fundraiser and established new programs that increased the budget seven-fold and grew the staff from two to fifteen. * Founded the collaborative Sierra Water Workgroup using strong stakeholder and coalition management skills that built trust among disparate water agencies, grassroots advocates, and watershed collaboratives. Fostered integrated regional water management planning which led to the securement of competitive California state funding for region. * Co-led effort, navigating complex California and regional politics, to legislatively establish Sierra Nevada Conservancy, leveraging millions of dollars annually to Sierra conservation.Tracked issue trends and conservation theories-of-change to create a cutting-edge rural Climate Change campaign in 2005 and produced the highly regarded at-the-time Sierra Climate Change Toolkit recommended by the United Nations and California Governor’s office. This entrepreneurial thinking positioned the rural Alliance as a leader in climate resilience, securing state and national funding and advancing the climate issue within region.
