My name is Joan Gray, and I have experience in writing, editing, public speaking, teaching, and leading. I have nearly eight years of experience working as a driver for educational equity, working within underserved communities in Houston, Texas. During my time in education, I have centered both my classroom and my coaching cycles around empathy, while maintaining a focus to eliminate injustices within our educational system at the forefront of every conversation. I have spent my time crafting curriculum, shaping and coaching both new and veteran educators, developing and leading professional development, planning events within the school community, and consistently raising the bar to do whatever it takes to allow our students to lead choice filled lives. Lastly, since the pandemic hit in 2020, I have ceaselessly worked to teach technological competence to both the teachers I lead and classrooms I support through my own development and mastery in learning managements systems like Schoology, Teams, OneNote, Google Classroom, Whiteboard, AI, CommonLit, and Nearpod. As someone who has had a career with a multitude of responsibilities and skills, I am eager to pursue an opportunity that can help me become an even stronger leader and professional.
