Environmental ManagerSempra Generation 2005 - 2010San Diego, Ca, Us• Managed development of FERC permit application, obtained permit and monitored construction compliance for an underground natural gas storage salt dome, compressor station and pipeline in Sulphur, Louisiana.• Served as owner environmental representative in the development and construction for the 1600 mile Rocky Express natural gas pipeline spanning from Wyoming to Ohio. • Overall responsibility for the permitting of a 60-MW photovoltaic solar installation in El Dorado Valley, Nevada. Challenges included addressing presence surveys and mitigation measures for the desert tortoise, control of fugitive dust in a desert environment as well as storm water pollution prevention measures. -
Project ManagerUrs Corporation 1994 - 2005San Francisco, Ca, Us• Supported due diligence activities and assessed air quality issues and other environmental aspects for AES Corporation at 4 natural gas fired power plants in the SCAQMD during California energy deregulation period. • Analyzed and assisted in the creation and acquisition of Emission Reduction Credits for base load and peaking natural gas power plants in Bakersfield, Pittsburg and Riverside California and realized a savings of a $1 million for the Riverside facility. • Lead document coordinator and technical reviewer for the concurrent preparation of 3 environmental assessments to support development of the ExxonMobil Pearl LNG Deepwater Port in the Gulf of Mexico. The project received a letter of commendation from the U.S. Coast Guard on the completeness of the Deep Water Port application.• Represented the World Bank for coal and gas fired power plants in Mexico to assure compliance with environmental requirements and air emission source test levels. • Environmental auditor for a DOD strike team at NASA and military installations throughout the US, performing one week audits to review all aspects of environmental compliance, develop detailed findings, and provided a formal out briefing to the commander of the installation at the conclusion of the week.• Performed a gap analysis and ISO 14000 program implementation duties to obtain certification for Imation Corporation magnetic tape and electronic storage manufacturing facility in Camarillo California.• Analyzed all air quality requirements, including PSD and NESHAPS for a Chevron Refinery in Hawaii and developed a Title V permit application. Reviewed and negotiated resulting permit conditions with the regulatory agency. • Developed and implemented a fugitive emission source testing program to determine site specific emission factors for valves and flanges resulting in operating cost saving on emission fees of approximately $300,000 annually for a refinery in the SCAQMD. -
