Lead major gift fundraising efforts for the School of Communication and Journalism and the Libraries.

I serve as an independent contractor specializing in major and principal gift fundraising and board development for higher education, the arts, social service and healthcare institutions.

• Planned, coordinated, and executed the Institute’s $100 million campaign, of which $66 million has been raised to date and whose scholarship goal of $20 million has been exceeded by $7 million• Work closely with Pratt’s Trustees, president, and academic leaders to establish fundraising priorities and to secure major gifts that will meet or exceed the Institute’s philanthropic goals • Forge partnerships with deans and faculty to create and deepen donor relationships and to leverage engagement opportunities so that the academic units achieve their fundraising goals• Lead, mentor, and inspire development staff to identify and cultivate prospective donors and to strengthen their relationships with existing donors• Maintain a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals capable of making significant gifts• Establish and maintain best practices for tracking and managing prospects, crafting individual strategies for major and planned giving prospects, closing new gifts, and stewarding past gifts • Lead an alumni relations program for 62,000+ alumni in 83 countries, including the launch of 12 alumni networks in key markets across the United States• Oversee the Institute’s communications, messaging, and marketing activities

• Led and provided professional development opportunities for a team of 25 advancement professionals• Secured record annual, major, capital, and planned gifts (from $18 million in 2013 to $40 million in 2014) in support of the School’s academic priorities• Grew the annual fund from $3 million to $5 million• Oversaw the School’s $75 million Momentum Scholarship Campaign (The School achieved the goal two years ahead of schedule.)• Worked closely with the dean and the university’s central development office to coordinate all fundraising and alumni relations activities• Maintained a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals capable of making transformational gifts to the School• Served as a member of Stern’s leadership team and maintained close working relationships with members of the School’s Board of Overseers and the Dean’s Executive Board • Led and implemented an alumni relations program for 100,000+ alumni• Increased alumni participation from 10% to 13%

My role as the wife of the Rutgers University President allowed me the opportunity to work closely with deans, faculty and administrative leaders as well as the institution's most important donor prospects to help further the mission of the Rutgers.

• Founded the Office of Principal Gifts• Provided strategic oversight and direction for the Office of Principal Gifts including assessing and enhancing campaign readiness • Worked closely with the President of Rutgers University in securing transformative gifts for the institution• Managed a portfolio of approximately 60 principal gift prospects and generated a high level of activity and prospect contact; formulated strategies for these individuals and wrote plans directed at achieving support• Worked closely with and mentored major gift and planned giving officers across the university to formulate and direct strategies for individuals capable of making gifts of $5 million or more• Ensured that the Vice President for Major Gift Programs and the President of the Rutgers University Foundation were well informed about plans and progress in relation to principal gift strategies and activities• Helped to identify non-alumni principal gift prospects and matched their interests with university priorities• Represented the Rutgers University Foundation at various public functions • Mentored and supervised professional staff

In my role as Vice President for Special Initiatives I helped to build the healthcare system's fundraising operation. I instituted an annual fund program and created a grateful patient initiative which led to an increase in the size of the healthcare system's donor base. In addition, I helped to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals capable of making major investments. I also secured new corporate and foundation funding sources. In addition, I led the successful $5 million capital campaign to build the Diocese of Metuchen's Catholic Center at Rutgers University. I also worked closely with the administration, the Diocese of Metuchen leadership, and with physicians to match the organization's priorities with the donors' interests and passions. I served as a member of the healthcare system's leadership team and to help chart its future in the areas of fundraising and community relations. I also led and managed a staff of professionals. The Saint Peter's Healthcare System is a Catholic institution sponsored by the Diocese of Metuchen.
