I currently work as a therapist at the Home for Little Wanderers, where I provide insurance based assessment and counseling services to children in grades K through 8 in one of the Boston Public Schools. I have held this position for nine years and work with children diagnosed with a range of clinical issues including anxiety, ADHD and ASD. This work includes collaboration with school staff to identify and assess students in need of counseling services as well as ongoing communication with parents, teaching staff and ancillary providers about student progress toward therapeutic goals. My role includes consultation with citywide clinical staff to address district programming needs. I also have extensive volunteer experience, which includes serving ten years as a Newton SEPAC board member. In this role I have helped support families individually and as a group leader of transition meetings for parents of children who have ASD and other special needs. I enjoy leading groups and would welcome the opportunity to develop and run information/support groups for families.I received my clinical training at the Boston Veteran's Administration, where I completed an APA approved internship working in the outpatient clinic, substance abuse and PTSD units. I received my Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Northeastern University in 2000 and my MA from Boston College in 1995. My first work experience was in health management at Beth Israel Hospital, which fostered my interest in health psychology.
