It was a very rewarding job because it allowed me to have an active role in the energy transition.

I started my first job in February 2018 as a Research Engineer at the Institute of Systems and Robotics at University of Coimbra. There I participated in a project called “NEXTSTEP – O PT do Futuro”, where I belonged to the smart storage and smart ventilation system teams. I was responsible for monitoring the project deliverables deadlines, doing graphic analysis, writing project activity’s reports and for other tasks that needed to be done. The partners of this project are EDP, Efacec, ITeCons, Eneida and INESC TEC, with whom I attended some meetings and did some networking.

During my master's thesis, I worked in partnership with Virtual Power Solutions, S. A. (https://www.vps.energy) in an innovation project about an energy community that presents itself as an alternative energy management solution, which promotes the sustainability of the network through the aggregation of energy assets, strategies of demand response and integration of renewable energy resources in the electricity market.
