A motivated and proactive Biological Engineer with a Ph.D. in Bioengineering Systems, J. L. Rodrigues has a multidisciplinary background and is always eagle to tackle new challenges.J. L. Rodrigues holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering Systems from the MIT Portugal Program and a Master degree in Biological Engineering from the University of Minho. Her master's thesis focused on developing new expression systems using synthetic biology approaches. During her Ph.D., she spent a year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Chemical Engineering Department, working in the prestigious synthetic biology Prather lab. There, she dedicated her research to designing and constructing a biosynthetic pathway for the production of a therapeutic compound. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the Biological Engineering Department and an Integrated Member of the Centre of Biological Engineering at the University of Minho.J. L. Rodrigues' main interests include the fields of synthetic biology, genetic engineering, metabolic engineering, and bioprocess engineering.
